Most recently, he and his wife brought home a long-haired German Shepard puppy named Timber. Feel free to say hi and give pets while walking on Yellow Lake trail!

Facilities Director
Chris joined the Klahanie team in March of 2022. He started his long career in construction on the fence lines of his uncle’s contracting business at 16 in southern New Mexico. Building miles of barb wire fence on the ranches, farms, and wildlife refuges all over the southwest gave him the love of nature and working out on the land. Having kids required him to get off the road and start working in facility maintenance. Many years were spent running the maintenance department in nursing homes, where he was able to interact with great people and big staffs. From there he started working in apartment maintenance, running garden style apartments and then a Tower in downtown Seattle. He was then lucky enough to work for the residents of Klahanie. Living close by in Issaquah with his wife and two kids allows him a short commute, better able to help the wonderful community of Klahanie.

Maintenance Manager
Steve joined our team back in June of 2008. He started off as a Maintenance Technician, then became a Lead, and is now the Manager. Steve grew up on the Sammamish Plateau since 1988, around the Pine Lake area, and considers Klahanie as part of his home away from home. He currently lives in Redmond, with this wife Heather, daughter Riley, and their skittish cat Rose.
He has a diverse background in many fields, ranging from Immigration & Customs Enforcement, to Funeral Director Assistant. He earned his Associates Degree from Bellevue Community College, with a focus towards Forestry and Environmental Science. He is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector, and also a Certified Pool Operator.
In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors, from camping, kayaking, to hiking. He loves all sciences, but especially Astronomy. And he is a big fan of most sports. Steve played baseball for 6 years, and has coached for 5 years.
Anytime you see him out in the community whether on foot, or in the orange Kubota, he invites you to come say Hi!
