President
11 years ago my wife and I chose to move to Klahanie because the community represented what we both felt was an ideal setting to raise our family. Now our children are 8 & 10 and we still feel the same about this community. Currently I am on the Communication committee and the Building & Special Projects committee for Klahanie.
Term Expires: 12/31/2024

Tiffany Rano
Vice President
I love Klahanie so much that, after a year of renting in the neighborhood, I purchased a home here. You'll often find me biking along Klahanie roads and trails with my husband and two kids. With a Masters of Architecture, 10+ years experience in the field, along with being a certified Passive House consultant, I'm hoping to share my expertise with the community. As for the Board, I'd like to bring a different perspective by representing women and minorities. Last year, I began volunteering with the Klahanie Architectural Control Committee to assist in the modernization of our neighborhood and updating the Architectural Controls Guidelines. I've enjoyed making connections with staff and residents, have seen how change can be implemented, and want to continue making improvements by serving on the Board of Directors.

My husband, son, daughter, and I made Klahanie our home in 2013 and have loved living here ever since we arrived. I am a realtor and a highly motivated person. I have built a reputation on efficiency, local knowledge with exceptional negotiating skills, and care deeply about the well-being of our community and overall safety as residents. I have served on the Safety Committee for Klahanie for the past two years and have been a dedicated resource for the neighborhood watch program.

In my spare time, I run marathons and spend time with family and friends. You may also see me out in the neighborhood walking my giant golden retriever, Bear, or may have had a visit from my cat, Zeus, who is quite infamous around the Heights neighborhood.

Jennifer Shepherd
Board Secretary
I moved to WA over 20 years ago and have been a Klahanie resident for the past 12 years with my husband Ben and my 3 boys. We were drawn to this community because of the amazing people and all the great amenities Klahanie has to offer. I love fine arts and working with children. I have a degree in early childhood development and dance. For the past 25 years, I have been an entrepreneur. Before starting my family, I owned a children's dance studio in upstate NY, and now have a photography business focused on children and families. I’m also an active member of the community volunteering with the PTSA and the Eastside Soccer Club.

My Family: daughter, Wife, a black lab, and I moved to Klahanie a year ago. We are both natives of the PNW, so we were drawn to the abundant nature that Klahanie has to offer. We like to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. In our year here we have enjoyed exploring our new neighborhood, participating in Klahanie days, hosting a block party, entering the holiday light contest, and being in the pool as much as possible.

Currently, I am a senior project manager for a commercial general contractor and have extensive experience and knowledge around underground utilities and earthwork. I have been around construction since 2007 and have served on the board of directors for the National Utility Contractors since 2013. Serving as Vice President and President Elect for 4 of those years. During my time, I have learned how a board operates and gained vast financial, community outreach, constructability, and budgeting experience.
